Trautman & Shreve uses virtual design and construction (VDC) and building information modeling (BIM) software to assist with the design process and help coordinate the mechanical and plumbing systems with other trades and systems in the building. This helps ensure that the proposed systems have adequate space for installation and maintenance before construction begins, reducing conflicts and scope changes.
Throughout the BIM process, our modeling team is working hand in hand with the project team, including field leadership and our prefabrication team, to develop a constructable and coordinated model. Based on the information in the model, we can efficiently prefabricate components to fit within the given space, which improves efficiency and increases productivity.
We believe the key to success with design and coordination is through leveraging the knowledge and expertise our team possesses. We bring decades of experience across many different project types, including base bid contracts, design-build, design-assist, and retrofits.
Our BIM team approaches design, modeling, and coordination with the same workflow as installation to help reduce schedule impacts and provide the most efficient task sequencing.
