Vice President/Sheet Metal Operations
As head of the company’s extensive sheet metal operations, Frank ensures that clients get the superior mechanical systems components they need for proper installation and long-term performance. In addition, he maintains strong personal contacts with local labor unions, architects, engineers, general contractors, and owner/user groups. This is a key factor in the company’s ability to deliver its projects consistently on time and on budget.
Frank’s solid background in sheet metal and mechanical systems gives the company the expertise needed to handle a complete range of projects, regardless of size or complexity. His responsibilities extend from estimating, pre-construction, and CAD design through project startup, fabrication, installation, and commissioning. Throughout the process, he monitors designs and makes value engineering and other recommendations that help streamline projects to deliver the systems clients need, while maintaining their budgets. As a result, under Frank’s management, Trautman & Shreve’s sheet metal department has become one of Colorado’s largest sheet metal operations.
Frank has more than 26 years of industry experience. After working for 23 years with another local contractor, he joined Trautman & Shreve in 2008. Over the course of his career, he has been involved in some of the most prestigious sheet metal projects in Colorado, including Children’s Hospital, Sports Authority at Mile High Stadium, the Pepsi Center, Denver International Airport, and the Vestas wind turbine plant, which, in 2008, was the largest sheet metal project west of the Mississippi.
Frank holds a bachelor’s in HVAC technology from Red Rock Community College and has completed a four-year apprenticeship through Sheet Metal Workers’ Local #9, where he has been a member for 26 years. He has also earned welding, testing and balancing, project management, and various other certificates.
Frank is an active member of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association (SMACNA) in Colorado.
